MotoGP: Rossi with Honda Gresini in 2012
Hi there!
Moreover, Valentino had an opportunity to show all the world that he can still win races.
Hot news today! The story started when we read on Twitter that The Racing Tribune talked about a possible agreement between Rossi and Honda Gresini in 2012. Here the article
Valentino would be tired because of the behaviour of the Ducati GP 11.1 and all surrounding the italian team.

Another italian, Fausto Gresini, would have another bike for him (Aoyama's one), and would structure an italian team with Valentino and Marco Simoncelli. Maybe, this could be the safer way for Simoncelli to improve his riding with the Honda, and also he could learn with a good friend but also a legend of MotoGP.
Moreover, Valentino had an opportunity to show all the world that he can still win races.
Anyway, we don't know if 2012 will the World's End, but for sure, what we already know is that if this news is true, it will be the end of the good relation between Ducati and Valentino Rossi.

A glimpse of what lies ahead in MotoGP

How are you guys?
This week we are talking about how it is going Motogp pre-season.
As you all know, 2011 will be a very exciting year for motorcycles lovers. Since there are many changes (some riders have changed teams, there are new riders in MotoGP, a rider returns to the category…), nobody knows what will happen exactly.
Let's focus on the teams:
Yamaha Factory Racing: Jorge Lorenzo: 2010 MotoGP World Champion, one of the fastest and most aggressive riders, and in principle, strong candidate to win the title. I am sure that you already know about some fights between him and Valentino.
Repsol Honda Team: Dani Pedrosa: The spanish rider wants his first MotoGP Championship, and this year he has another chance to try. HRC has found "the bike" this year, and seeing the results of the tests in Valencia and Sepang, it is more than clear that HRC will be on the Top 5, and remember, they have three riders in the line-up…
Casey Stoner: He has already been MotoGP World Champion, but he wants to win again. Injuries and problems with the "brave red bullet" caused him many problems, however, Casey is very comfortable with the Honda, and the most important, he is going really fast.
Andrea Dovizioso: Third rider in HRC this year. Pedrosa and Stoner are pushing harder, so the condition of second rider in HRC last year and the arrival of Casey to Repsol Honda put him in the third position of the team.
San Carlo Honda Gresini: Hiroshi Aoyama: The japanese rider is very motivated with the next season. Really, he is not the favorite to be in Top 8.
Marco Simocelli: 2:00.757 was his best lap in Sepang, being 1st, and being 0.013s faster than Dani Pedrosa (2nd), and 1.085s faster than Valentino Rossi. Maybe, he could be the surprise in 2011.Despite he is not in HRC, he can ride a really fast semi-official Honda in San Carlo Hondra Gresini.
Rizla Suzuki MotoGP: Alvaro Bautista: Alvaro is feeling good with the new Suzuki, and there you have the results (7th,8th and 10th). He has to be very happy to be the unique rider in an official team as Suzuki, where they will be working hard to get better results than the previous season. He could be one of the surprises with Simoncelli.
LCR Honda MotoGP: Toni Elias: First Moto2 World Champion ever. A great prize for Toni that allows him to return to MotoGP. However, this pre-season is being hard for him. Results have not come yet, and Toni does not feel good in the Honda. Unfortunately, although Honda is improving a lot, Toni rides the slowest Honda in the line-up.
Mapfre Aspar Team MotoGP: Hector Barbera: Hector is demonstrating what we all know, that he is a very regular rider. 10th,11th and 12th are his results in this pre-season. This is not his first year in MotoGP, so he has a big room for improvement from now.
Kardion AB Motoracing: Karel abraham: A very young czech rider who comes to MotoGP basically to learn. He has the 4th Ducati in the category. To get some points in 2011 with the Ducati will be more than enough for him in his first year in MotoGP.
Monster Yamaha Tech3: Colin Edwards: A really good and veteran rider. The american rider in Yamaha Tech3 has been 12th,9th and 6th. So good results for him, having an slower bike than other riders.
Cal Crutchlow: Unique english rider in MotoGP in 2011. 13th,16th and 14th are his results. Of course, they are not so good, but the same thing happened with a rider called Ben Spies. Cal might surprise many people, he is another of the big questions this season.
Pramac Racing Team: Randy De Puniet: We have to see how fast he can be with the Ducati. With Honda he got so good results, now he is in the middle of the standings, so he and Pramac should work hard to prepare the season.
Loris Capirossi: The italian rider returns to his favorite bike. It is well known how Loris can tune the Ducati. I met him in the Indianapolis Airport (after Indianapolis race two years ago), and I can only say that he is a brilliant person.Best wishes for him.
Ducati Team: Nicky Hayden: 6th, 8th and 12th in the pre-season. Otherwise he is feeling better than his fellow in Ducati. Another american, Ben Spies, came very strong last year, and for Nicky it is a really important goal to recover the 1st place in the american classification in MotoGP. I really like him, and I think this will be a good year for him.
Valentino Rossi: Well, this is a difficult topic. Valentino has left Yamaha to ride with an italian bike. The Ducati is well known as a furious beast, and maybe this is one of the reasons why Valentino doesn't feel comfortable in this new experience. Anyway, we are sure that Valentino is playing a little again, and he feels better than what we see in the results. Rossi finished 15th, 11th and 11th again, unusual positions for him. However, for sure he is going to fight for the championship.

Three-rider grid rows for all classes

The Grand Prix Commission, composed of Messrs. Carmelo Ezpeleta (Dorna Sports, Chairman), Ignacio Verneda (FIM Executive Director, Sport), Hervé Poncharal (IRTA) and Takanao Tsubouchi (MSMA), in the presence of Javier Alonso (Dorna), Claude Danis (FIM Safety Officier) and M. Paul Butler (Secretary of the meeting), in a meeting held on December 9th in Madrid, Spain, unanimously decided on a number of regulations for the 2011 and 2012 seasons respectively.
In 2011 the practice schedule across the first two days of each Grand Prix will be as follows:
MotoGP: 4 sessions of 60 minutes
Moto2: 4 sessions of 45 minutes
125cc: 2 sessions of 45 minutes (morning) and 2 sessions of 30 minutes (afternoon).
There will also be three riders on each row of the starting grid in every category starting in 2011.
With regards to the new Moto3 class which will be introduced in 2012, there was confirmation that there will be a single supplier for the ECU engine management system with an announcement on the chosen proposal due on March 19th 2011.
There will also be a single tyre and fuel/oil supplier to the class, both of which will be announced on the same date.

Rossi eager for action but prepared for “calm” recovery

Valentino Rossi is fully aware of the road to recovery that awaits him following surgery on his shoulder on Sunday, and despite acknowledging that he needs to be “calm and patient” in his rehabilitation the 31 year-old is eager to try out his repaired shoulder.
In the aftermath of his operation in Italy on Sunday Doctor Alessandro Castagna, one of the specialists who operated on Rossi, said he expected the nine-time World Champion to fit in time for the MotoGP Test at Sepang which takes place at the start of February next year, provided there were no complications to the Italian’s recovery.
Rossi appears to have taken stock of the advice and is anticipating a careful approach, and gave his post-operation reaction to the crew of Italian broadcaster Mediaset’s humorous show ‘Striscia la Notizia’.
“I’m pretty bad and it’s very painful, but that’s normal in the days that follow an operation. I’m finding it difficult to sleep,” said Rossi. “The operation went well. Everything is how it should be. My arm is immobilised, and the shoulder is expected to recover 100%. Now it’s just a question of time, I have to be calm, patient, and to wait.”
With his focus on the Sepang Test, which should be his second on the Desmosedici, Rossi continued: “The shoulder was much worse than we suspected and the operation lasted twice as long as was planned. The tendons which we thought were a little bit affected were in fact completely damaged. Now I have a shoulder which is like new, and I’m eager to try it out. I hope to be fit for February 1st, the first Test of 2011, and ride the Ducati.”

Kenny Noyes: USA-Spain Connection
Kenny began dirt-track racing in the US, and he won the national championship.
In 2003, he became Spanish Superstock Champion, and he won the Endurance tittle in 2005.
In 2009 he also won the 1000cc Extreme Championship in Spain, and now he is in the new Moto2 series of the MotoGP championship, where he is getting good results.
