The Grand Prix Commission, composed of Messrs. Carmelo Ezpeleta (Dorna Sports, Chairman), Ignacio Verneda (FIM Executive Director, Sport), Hervé Poncharal (IRTA) and Takanao Tsubouchi (MSMA), in the presence of Javier Alonso (Dorna), Claude Danis (FIM Safety Officier) and M. Paul Butler (Secretary of the meeting), in a meeting held on December 9th in Madrid, Spain, unanimously decided on a number of regulations for the 2011 and 2012 seasons respectively.
In 2011 the practice schedule across the first two days of each Grand Prix will be as follows:
MotoGP: 4 sessions of 60 minutes
Moto2: 4 sessions of 45 minutes
125cc: 2 sessions of 45 minutes (morning) and 2 sessions of 30 minutes (afternoon).
There will also be three riders on each row of the starting grid in every category starting in 2011.
With regards to the new Moto3 class which will be introduced in 2012, there was confirmation that there will be a single supplier for the ECU engine management system with an announcement on the chosen proposal due on March 19th 2011.
There will also be a single tyre and fuel/oil supplier to the class, both of which will be announced on the same date.
